Anyway…

Recently, at my new school, we had a chance to go and help out at a preschool or nursery. The small children there are mostly from black families (which I think is sad), and they were precious little children. We should all try to help those precious children around the world who have a greater chance of dying at a premature age. My family and I sponsor a little girl from Peru, and I think sponsoring children is a great idea because those children may be brought up in a broken household, or even in a family that is not as blessed as most people in the US are. We complain because of being “middle class” and having “way high taxes”, but these people around the world would LOVE to have as much freedom, money, and love as we do. My parents had sponsored a boy from Africa a long time ago, and with 15$ (which is a paltry sum in our eyes), this little boy bought a bed (he had been sleeping on a straw pallet on the floor) and a battery powered lamp. He got this with 15 DOLLARS!!! Think of the difference we can make with what seems so little money to us.

Ok, so I went on this really cool missions trip this week to the “Show-me Home” in La Monte, MO. Let me tell you a little bit about the Show-me Home. It is a great place for kids who have no families or their grandparents cannot cope with having an extra mouth to feed and body to look after. Kids can also be sent because maybe they have done something wrong but are really a good person at heart, or their parents want to take them back after Show-me helps them back on their feet. Show-me also has a Christian school that teaches kids who are behind in school work and their studies, and the rest of the kids go to public school. I learned a lot on this trip: humility, about judgement, and to treat others how they would like to be treated. I also developed a special bond with my classmates who were there. We went to CoCo Key (a waterpark) afterwards. CoCo Key was awesome and had unreal waterslides.
